Interestingly, YouTube shouldn’t be my focus. If you are starting out, it shouldn’t be yours, either.
All my current newsletter subs (all eleven - I read your stuff, love you all!) are on Substack. A newsletter is the best platform to grow an audience because;
The audience is invested in YOU.
In terms of marketing, it’s the best chance of earning money from people.
If a platform bans you, it doesn’t matter - you have your viewers’ email addresses. Just use Mailchimp or whatever. This also allows freedom of expression.
My take: it's also intimate. Maybe because Substack is a bunch of introvert feeling types (or I’m projecting, either way - it’s cool), but the point is, you guys are trusting me with your email addresses. I will repay that kindness with what I learn.

Any platform where you can churn some of your writing into short-form tweets or pictures is good;
Pictures can be just words
Words and pictures have high CTR (click-through rate)
EG. Freedom of truth could write parts of her poems as tweets to advertise the full-length ones in her newsletter. She could also make pictures on Instagram. This would allow her Substack to be paid only while still being discoverable
The point is to repurpose your hard work. See the image in this newsletter. I will repurpose this content, too. You can follow me to see.

If nothing else, free engagement for your socials (follow me, I follow you);
Final thoughts
I don’t know if this will work. But I’m tracking the data behind this now. If it doesn’t, I'll just pivot until it does.
This is what the Google certificates have taught me.
This is the Meta strategy that influencers like Dan Koe are using.
This will work for you. If you have a better strategy, do tell.
Oh, one more thing: my emails are now sent at 9 am GMT. This is the best time for people in the UK/European audience, as well as early enough for my Cousins across the sea (USA).
